So finally I decide to send the green box containing a few gifts for my princess. I had left the box sitting on a table in my apartment for a couple of months, and she knew all about it.
Anyhow, on Monday I took the box to the post office and shipped it off! I was happy. Excited even. Hoping that she’d like the gifts and that she’d receive them shortly. I called her that evening and told her that it had been sent.
She turned into a 5 year old. Giggling. Laughing. Smiling. Tearing up. We fell in love all over again.
The guy at the post office told me that it would take 2-5 days and so she had her ears and eyes at the front door. Waiting for the bell to ring. Her family somewhat joined in the fun. Her sister would check the mailbox just in case a note was in there telling her to pick it up from the post office. Finally on Thursday, a note showed up. She immediately called me. Hyper. High on life. Smiling and giggling uncontrollably. I said “what’s up baby?” she simply responded with “it’s here! I’m getting dressed and running to the post office!”. I smiled at her.
On the way back from the post office. As she lifted a big green box, she decided to call me. “Baby! The box is huge!”. I paused for a second “what do you mean huge?” I could here her trudging through the snow. Heavy breathing. “it’s much bigger than you told me!” I thought, my God, I swear it’s a tiny box. Almost palm sized. “it’s really heavy baby.” she said. I knew she had the wrong box. As soon as I told her to stop and double check, she started crying :( it turned out to be a box her mother ordered for the kitchen. My poor little princess was so upset. It wasn’t for her :( I laughed but a tear drop fell from my eye at her genuine sadness. She had been waiting so long for my gift and when she was so close, it wasn’t for her.
I truly hope it arrives today. I wanna see her beautiful smile again. Baby of you’re reading this, please be patient. Love you.
